1. FC Kaiserslautern with a wide chest to Dresden
With demonstrative optimism, 1. FC Kaiserslautern and Dynamo Dresden go into the decisive encounter after the 0-0 in the first relegation game.
Immediately after the final whistle on Friday evening, both FCK coach Dirk Schuster and his continued uncomfortable dynamo colleague Guerino Capretti talked strongly and expressly praised their fans, whose support they continued to need bitter.
"I am satisfied with the starting position. In the next game we will present our attacks, we will score goals," promised Capretti for the game on Tuesday (8:30 p.m./Guerino Capretti.1 and Sky).
"Don't worry" at Dynamo Dresden
The nervousness is big enough in the camp of the third division third and second division thirds. In front of 46,895 spectators in the sold-out Fritz-Walter Stadium, both teams fought a passionate wear and tear on both sides.
After 18 games in a row without a win in the Saxons, in the second leg against the Palatinate of the knots - otherwise it will go down in League three. "We defended passionately and deservedly took the point with us," said former FCK professional Chris Löwe. "We saw, we don't need to be afraid of Lautern."
The FCK remained without a hit despite the wild attempt at attack in the first half. But chief coach Schuster, who had replaced Marco Antwerpen last week after turbulent days, did not want to see the goalless draw as a damper for the climbing rooms.
1. FC Kaiserslautern "left heart on the square"
Immediately after the final whistle, the 54-year-old gathered his players in a circle and encouraged them. "Now we're going to Dresden with a wide chest," he said. "We were very present in the duels, we left our heart on the pitch. Nothing happened today and we will be well prepared for Dresden."
The second duel between the four-time German and the eight-time GDR champion also promises passionate football. Schuster knows only too well what is possible in a relegation: in 2014 he performed the feat with Darmstadt 98, after a 1: 3 in the relegation first champion against Arminia Bielefeld with a 4: 2 in the second leg into the 2nd division.
With the lilies, the native Chemnitzer even marched into the upper house a year later.
