Premier League: FC Everton separates from Russian sponsor
In view of the Russian war in Ukraine, the English Football First Ligist FC Everton has exposed its commercial sponsoring agreements with the companies of the Oligarch of Alischer Usmanov with immediate effect.
According to a notice published by the Club on Wednesday, this concerns cooperation with USM, telecommunications company Megafon and the Internet service provider Yota, in which Russian billionaire usmanov is significant.
The 68-year-old, which is considered a close confidant of Russian President Vladimir Putin, had only settled on Tuesday as President of the Fencing World Association Fie until further notice.
"Everyone at Everton is still shocked and sad about the horrible events in Ukraine," it said in the club statement: "This tragic situation must be finished as soon as possible and every further loss of human life must be avoided."
Player, coaching team and all employees would also "fully" support the Ukrainian Everton Professional Witali Mykolenko and his family "do this".
